Owl & Pigeon The majestic and endangered Barn Owl is occasionally seen in the Liverpool area, while the clownish Wood Pigeon is much more common.  Here, Montagnes has rendered, in the style of a wood-cut, a confrontation between a swooping owl and a startled pigeon.  With a background in scientific illustration and design, David Montagnes has spent the last 25 years working as an ecologist at the University of Liverpool.
