Penny Lane Bus

The number  46 bus was one of the main routes into Liverpool City Centre from Penny Lane and back.  Whilst waiting for the bus Paul McCartney was inspired to write the lyrics to the Penny Lane hit by the things he saw, including the barber's shop, the bank, and a nurse selling poppies. He later turned these notes into the song.
