Georgian Bay, named after King George IV, lies on the north shore of Lake Huron, one of Canada’s Great Lakes. With rocks worn by glaciers to resemble waves and evergreens twisted by the harsh climate, this pristine landscape has inspired artists for over a century. Now a resident of Liverpool, David Montagnes was born in Canada, where he worked for a time as a scientific illustrator. For the past 25 years he has been an ecologist at the University of Liverpool.
